MHIA History

Manufactured Homes Insurance Agency Pty Ltd (MHIA) began 1990 with a specialised policy for Manufactured Homes. Manufactured Homes are also known as Relocatable Homes or Park Homes.

MHIA's Manufactured Home policy is the first policy for these homeowners to cover accidental damage to items other than glass.

From a very small beginning MHIA has grown to become a major force in the relocatable home insurance market.

MHIA then developed a policy for on site caravans and old style mobile homes. Again MHIA’s insight in policy coverage especially in the area of Public Liability coverage had it leading the way over its opposition.

In June 2001 MHIA released its policy for touring caravans. The acceptance of this policy has been remarkable and sales have already surpassed all expectations. Again this is largely due to MHIA's ability to listen and learn from the market it sells to. MHIA has a policy of asking the customers what they want and try to build coverage to suit rather than just trying to sell an off the shelf product.

Over the last several years MHIA has released its policies for Motorhomes, Caravan Parks, Home Owners and Motor Vehicles.

MHIA's mission is to service the insurance needs of the consumers of the Caravan Industry by:

• Creating the most efficient delivery and service system for our policies
• Achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction
• Production of an efficient claims payment mechanism
• Supporting the principles of the Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia Ltd (CRVA)

MHIA also prides itself on being a good corporate citizen. MHIA sponsors the ''Young Achiever of the Year' in Queensland and Victoria.

MHIA has also chosen to become a National Sponsor of the CRVA. This is a quantum leap of faith in our National Association for such a small enterprise.
