Provides cover for Motorhomes and Contents:
$20,000,000 Legal Liability Cover
- for loss or damage to other peoples’ property caused by a motor vehicle accident
- if you permanently live in your Motorhome, you are also covered for bodily injury, death or illness to other people and loss or damage to other peoples’ property, caused by an occurrence other than a motor vehicle accident involving your Motorhome
Accidental Damage
- to your Motorhome, Trailer or Contents
- including road accident, impact, storm, lightning, flood, hail, escape of water or liquid, fire
Burglary, Theft or Malicious damage
- including theft or your Motorhome or Trailer
- including theft of your Contents items from your locked Motorhome, your locked external container or from inside your Annexe
- the cost to repair your Motorhome, Trailer, Annexe or Contents following any damage caused by thieves
- the cost to replace your Motorhome, Trailer, Annexe or Contents if stolen and not recovered
General Average
- this means if a ship’s captain sacrifices some of the cargo to save the ship, the owners of the remaining cargo must contribute towards the loss suffered by others
Hire of a Motor Vehicle and Accommodation
- we will pay for Motorhome hire OR a motor vehicle and emergency accommodation expenses if your Motorhome is damaged and unfit to live in or stolen and the claim has been accepted by us
Loss of Deposits
- we will pay you any non-refundable deposit you have made to a caravan park if you are unable to travel due to death or disablement, if you are called for jury duty or if a state of emergency is declared
Mechanical/Electrical Breakdown of listed appliances forming part of your Motorhome or Contents
- we will pay the cost to repair or replace a range of listed appliances e.g. fridges/freezers, air conditioners under 10 years old, less any applicable depreciation
Permanent address not required
- we will provide cover to you even if you do not have a permanent address, subject to applicable underwriting limits
Portable Personal Valuables
- we repair or replace any personal valuables that are accidentally lost, damaged or stolen as far as possible to original condition
Recovery of your Motorhome
If your Motorhome is damaged or stolen and recovered damaged, more than 100 kilometres from your home town:
- we will pay the cost of recovery of the Motorhome to your home town OR
- we will pay the cost of travel for you to collect your Motorhome
- this benefit applies either before or after repairs
Recovery of the Contents of your Motorhome
If your Motorhome is damaged in excess of the agreed value, more than 100 kilometres from your home:
- We will pay the cost to transport your Contents to your home
Repatriation – driver illness or accident
If your Motorhome is unable to be driven due to the driver’s illness or accident:
- we will pay the cost to return your Motorhome to your home
Towing and storage following damage in an accident
- we will pay the cost of removing the debris from the accident and towing your Motorhome to the nearest repairer
- we will pay the cost to store your Motorhome if required & agreed to by MHIA
Travel Assistance
If the driver of the Motorhome becomes unable to drive the vehicle due to illness or accident:
- we will pay the cost to return the driver and anyone travelling with the driver in the Motorhome to the driver’s home
